Although we are a relatively new team, we are very much committed to supporting and strengthening our retiree community here in Taiwan. We aim to keep our social platforms friendly, informative and up to date, while also helping to organise activities, outings, events and opportunities for members to connect and enjoy good company.

We warmly welcome your ideas and suggestions. Whether you have thoughts for new activities, recommendations for venues, or concerns you would like us to consider, please do get in touch. We want the club to reflect the interests and needs of its members, and we will always do our best to listen to and take your feedback on board.

Ken, Bronwyn and Amanda are particularly knowledgeable when it comes to IT, online communication and social media, helping to keep everyone informed and connected. Grace focuses on welcoming new members and helping the group continue to grow positively and inclusively.

Above all, we hope to create a warm, supportive and enjoyable community where retirees can make friends, share experiences, and feel at home in Taiwan.

The Admin Team

After a career in education, most recently in fundraising for students and facilities, Bronwyn now splits her time between the UK, Taiwan where she has family, and travel in the region. Her lifelong search for great places, coffee and conversation began originally in NZ with many stops along the way.

A perpetual beginner in Pilates she counts herself lucky through classes here to have met up with Grace, Ken and Amanda and the Retired in Taiwan group. Shared interests here include exploring Taipei’s walking trails, restaurants and museums.

Kenneth has been living and working in Taiwan for many years, finding ways to enjoy Taipei’s hot summers with smoothies, cold drinks, and ice dishes.

From running a local business to writing and photography, it’s been a wild ride with WordPress—building sites, managing client projects, and now co‑creating Retired in Taiwan.

He shares his journey on A Look Through The Lens through his photos capturing local life. Here’s to the next coffee meet‑up!

Grace hails from Bonnie Scotland and swapped the heather hills for Taiwan in 2012. After more than 30 years in Special Education, she retired in 2023. Seeing there was little available for retirees, she founded what is now The Retired in Taiwan Club. Clearly, putting her feet up was never really an option.

A proud grandmother and great-grandmother, Grace has family in both Scotland and Taiwan. As friends say, she has created her own wee dynasty here. These days, she enjoys family life, good company, and the occasional Pilates class to keep herself on her toes.

Hi everyone, I’m Amanda! I’m a Kiwi, born and raised, and a retired ex-banker. I moved to Taiwan in 2025 when my partner took a role in a bank here, and I’ve loved getting involved in our ‘Retired in Taiwan’ community as an admin.

I’m a big fan of anything active—you’ll often find me in the pool, at the golf driving range or out on my bike. If you have tips for the best cycling routes or swimming spots around Taiwan, I’d love to hear them!
