‘Friends of the Community’ Inaugural Meeting

At the end of May 2026, the Community Services Centre closed its 2F premises at short notice and paused its community-focused education programs and services as it addressed operational issues. We’re still waiting for further news about developments there.

[Counselling services continue without impact. Should anyone need counselling, please contact the counselling team at https://communitycenter.org.tw/counseling/]

In the meantime:

On June 1st, the community of students and friends in the community held a lunch to thank the Centre’s volunteers, instructors and program staff (past and present). The event showed that there is an incredible amount of goodwill amongst all those affected by CSC’s developments. As a result, we are now seeking ways to continue some of the information sharing, networks and education programs that help so many of us navigate life in Taipei.

The Friends of the Community Group is forming a committee to:

  • a. bring people together from a range of backgrounds – including former volunteers, instructors and course participants;
  • b. determine ways to maintain essential and expand whatever services we can; and
  • c. provide information to support new arrivals, in Taiwan

We hope to provide assistance for those providing community education programs in Taipei, for the international community in Tianmu, and for those helping support new arrivals and foreign residents.

If you think you can help, get in touch! And even if you can’t help right now, come and connect with us. You just never know what might happen, who you’ll meet or what you can learn! The invitation is open.
