Please consider the following before submitting.
1. Audience & Purpose
Articles should be particularly relevant to retirees, expats, and long-term residents in Taiwan. Focus on practical living, cultural experiences, health, finance, leisure, community engagement, etc.
2. Content Standards
We’re excited to welcome reader and guest contributions for this site, esp. those articles that draw on the lived experiences, adjusting to retirement, and high quality contributions.
Some suggestions include: topics relevant to adjusting to life in Taiwan, reviews of movies/restaurants/clubs/classes/etc. that readers can check out for themselves.
3. Format & Length
- Word Count: 600–1,200 words preferred; shorter reflections (300–500 words) welcome.
- Structure: Use headings, short paragraphs, and lists for readability.
- Language: English is prioritized but names of locations, people, etc in Chinese (with pinyin are recommended).
4. Supporting Materials
- Images: Provide high-quality photos (JPEG/PNG) with captions and credits.
- References: Cite sources for statistics, quotes, or external materials.
- Author Bio: Include 2–3 sentences about yourself, with optional photo.
5. Submission Process
- Format: Submit in Google Docs with images saved on a separate page. Don’t format for publication.
- Deadline: Open
- Review: Editorial team will edit for clarity, grammar, or length.
- Rights: Authors retain copyright but grant permission for publication on the website and on social media (Facebook, WhatsApp, LINE, etc.) in perpetuity.
